Widely recognized as one of the biggest names in porn, John Stagliano (aka "Buttman") is facing 32 years in prison. The film catalogues the work of a variety of artists, from photographers and painters to burlesque dancers and porn directors, profiling the creators and examining their obsessions. At the center is Stagliano, his work, and his obscenity case. His influential style and approach to filmmaking have reached far beyond the world of pornography. But is his work obscene?

David Fine is originally from Seattle and currently lives in San Francisco. His background in film production includes directing numerous short documentaries and music videos, as well as working as an editor in both Los Angeles and San Francisco. He attended Wesleyan University where he majored in Film Studies. He does not know exactly how to write about himself in the third person.
